WHY SHOULD YOU BECOME A MEMBER?
Every Christian should join a church because Scripture requires it. We are a sovereign Missionary Baptist Church. We are affiliated with the National Baptist Convention denominational headquarters. We are in fellowship with the Trinity Missionary Baptist Congress of Christian Education. Without compromise to our doctrine, we fellowship with all who believe that Jesus is the Christ; the incarnate sovereign God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Here at Mt. Pleasant we offer great ministry opportunities to work for our Savior (please see our ministries page). One way to stay active in the church is to get to work in a ministry. Jesus tells us in Luke 10:2, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.
Becoming a member of a church is a way that we identify with other people who have committed themselves living as a follower of Jesus. It is a way of saying, “This is who I am and this is what matters to me.” It is a commitment to a lifetime of learning and growing in our relationships with God and with one another. Being a part of the church is a way that we witness to our faith in God and open ourselves to relationships that only a Christian community can offer. This is the reason that, every Sunday, we invite persons who are not members of Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church to make this community their church home.
